Germany - Leipzig Thomas-church swastika-forms as four-foot - three-foot - two-foot

[11/30/2003] at the Thomas-churchyard, first construction in the Romance style of 1212, rebuilding into a Saxon reverberate-church in the late-Gothic style until 1496. Domain of Johann Sebastian Bach from 1723 on, up to his death in 1750. Concerts of the famous Thomas-choir, organ-concerts( Sauer-organ of 1889, Schuke-organ of 1966/67). Since the 200th obit J.S. Bachs his ultime demora; in front of the church the new Bach-monument created by Carl Seffner.

In the four-foot (Vierschneuß), the swastika-form is still to be recognized the most clearly. The three-foot (Dreischneuß) and the two-foot (Zweischneuß) are regarded as adapted forms. While the three-foot should reflect the three-wrinkled-ness, one speaks of the two-foot as two fish-blisters, the similarity with the Tai Chi symbol of Yin and Yang is not to be omitted. Like old traditions say, the Tai Chi symbol should have originated from the cosmic swastika.

Why the old master builders installed these sacred symbols into such church constructions is not yet completely clarified, after convention from many cultures the swastika was used as protection and defense against the evil.
